Best Breweries in Summit County to Watch Football

Last Fall we shared how to kickoff football season near Breckenridge, Colorado. This Fall, we scoped out all of the local breweries in the north county to highlight the best breweries in the county to watch your favorite football team play. There’s nothing better than indulging in locally brewed beers and food, while cheering on your favorite football team.

Dillon Dam Brewery - 100 Little Dam St, Dillon, CO - 970.262.7777

A local feel, chill ambiance, amazing service, and delicious (and inexpensive) burgers are just some of the things that describe watching football at the Dillon Dam Brewery in Dillon. If you are a lover of all beer styles, order a flight, which sets you up to taste any one of their tap beers. We recommend the Wilderness Wheat for those Wheat beer lovers, or the uber popular Dam Straight Lager. Both the bar area and dining room have multiple flat screen TVs so you can watch the game from any part of the brewery. And if you want to listen to the game, ask your server about the App they offer so you can download and listen to the entire game. Don’t forget your headphones, or you can purchase them for $3. The best part of watching the early games on Sunday at the Dam is brunch – the only brewery we visited that offers delicious brunch on Sundays. Get the Chicken and Waffle Benedict and pair with Sweet George’s Brown ale. If you see yourself dining at Dillon Dam Brewery often, ask about their mug club!

Pug Ryan’s Brewery and Steakhouse - 104 Village Place, Dillon, CO - 970.468.2145

Situated in the heart of Dillon is Pug Ryan’s Brewery, home of award-winning brews. Some of the best tasting craft beers is at Pug Ryan’s includes the Deadeye Dunkel which offers a crisp, sweet and subtle nutty taste, and the Peacemaker Pilsner that has a medium body and pairs well with Pug’s yummy chicken wings.  Flights are a reasonable $1.50 each and make it fun to taste all their beer styles. When you choose the one you want the next day, stop by the cooler on the way out and pick up a six-pack all canned and ready to go – or fill a growler. Catch the afternoon games at Pug Ryan’s to take advantage of the daily happy hour of $3.25 pints, $3.50 well drinks or 50% off appetizers. Pugs also offers headphone game listening and it works well if your group is watching different games at the same time.

The Baker’s Brewery - 531 Silverthorn Ln, Silverthorne, CO - 970.468.0170

Baker’s Brewery is clear in the name – they know how to bake, and they know how to make delicious craft beer. The newest brewery on the scene in Silverthorne (before a couple more newcomers open up in 2017), Baker’s Brewery has fun football buy-in games sponsored by the local dispensary Native Roots, and has a special football menu (in addition to the everyday menu) priced at $4.20 per snack size portion. They play off their tagline “Baked and Brewed” around the restaurant and their location within walking distance of the hotels on the hill brings in a fun mix of visitors and locals. Multiple TVs align the bar and the dining area so you can catch the game from anywhere in the restaurant. We recommend the beer cheese soup with a bread bowl, and tasters to sip on the rotating beers.
