What’s better then enjoying a delicious brunch in the mountains on a beautiful summer day? With summer finally here in the Breckenridge area, don’t miss out on the best brunch spots - some even equipped with outdoor patios with scenic views to take in that fresh, crisp mountain air. When in the Breckenridge area during winter, spring or fall, these weekend brunch spots offer delicious food, and adult eye-opening beverages for every season, tourist and local alike.

Spencer’s at Beaver Run Resort

Located a little bit higher in elevation than Main Street in Breckenridge, head up to Beaver Run at the base of Peak 9 to enjoy mountainside brunch. In addition to traditional Colorado-style brunch items like the Colorado Smoked Salmon bagel and lox, you can also take advantage of their full breakfast buffet with about everything you’ll want for a hearty meal before heading out to play in the mountains. Plus, you can build your own mimosa, or sip on a cilantro bloody mary.

Cool River Coffee House and Bakery

Cool River is on the River Walk just off Main Street in Breckenridge and serves fresh baked breakfast wraps, bagel egg sandwiches, homemade quiche, and other bakery treats in a casual and cozy setting. Grab your carefully prepared breakfast, and gourmet coffee drink, and pop a squat on a patio chair to take in the Breckenridge Mountain ski area views and listen to the rush of the river – SO relaxing!

Columbine Café

This home-style breakfast spot sits in the heart of Breckenridge on Main Street with a rustic space, and patio. Start your day off with brunch at Columbine Café complimented with shopping and site seeing throughout historic Breckenridge. While enjoying the fun vibes at Columbine Café, order the biscuits and gravy, or the Breck scramble, sure to satisfy that mid-morning hunger.

Blue River Bistro

Starting at 10 on Sundays only, Blue River Bistro offers a delectable menu of savory and sweet brunch entrees including an Eggs Southwest complete with poached eggs atop a polenta cake, pulled pork and poblano cream, the ‘French’ Toast stacked with caramelized apples & pecans or the traditional but stomach-pleasing biscuits and gravy. Complete these dishes with a cocktail like the Rocky Mountain Columbine that includes St. Germain liqueur, grapefruit juice and champagne.

Other Brunch Options in Breck on the lighter side:

Sit on the patio at Motherloaded Tavern located on Main Street and order their delicious bloody mary, or head over to Park and Main and grab a seat on their fun patio and order the scrambled egg bruschetta.

In Frisco:

Bread and Salt

Family and locally owned restaurant Bread and Salt has a patio with a European feel that looks directly at Mount Royal and Peak One on Main Street in Frisco. Our favorite is the Harvest Benedict dished up with in-season vegetables.

Butterhorn Bakery

A popular spot in Frisco, Butterhorn Bakery offers a few tables for patio seating  attached to the restaurant and on the entry sidewalk off of Main Street. Order the infamous Eggs Butterhorn – a play on eggs benedict created with a house-made croissant instead of an English muffin served in a more traditional eggs benny.

Log Cabin Café

The Log Cabin, also on Main Street in Frisco, has served breakfast in Summit County for over 30 years. Their rustic, log cabin feel is the perfect spot to brunch and fully immerse yourself with mountain culture. Be sure to order a dish that comes with a homemade biscuit and their delicious jam, and if you are hungry for sweets order a cinnamon roll on the side.

Frisco Lodge

Although the Frisco Lodge is recognized as one of Frisco’s best places to stay and isn’t exclusively a restaurant, the Frisco Lodge dishes up some of the best breakfast in town according to their guests. Another reason to book a night stay at this lodge, in addition to accommodations like a hot tub, cute patio tables and perfect location, is for the gourmet breakfast. Only guests get to experience this brunch, so why not book for a weekend mountain getaway?

Dillon and Silverthorne:

Arapahoe Café

Nestled in the Summit County town of Dillon, Arapahoe Café has a quaint patio with amazing pots of flowers overlooking Lake Dillon with views of the ten-mile range. On a bluebird sunny day, head over to A Café, grab a patio table, and indulge in one of the many breakfast items. We recommend the Huevos Rancheros made with their divine homemade chili sauce (pork green chili is our fave), the traditional eggs benedict or their trout and eggs.  A Café is open daily for brunch, so you can indulge any day of the week.

Dillon Dam Brewery

On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday starting at 11 AM, head over to the Dillon Dam Brewery for a brewery brunch. Breakfast pizza, or a bacon and egg sandwich are just a couple of the items on the brunch menu that changes seasonally. We recommend ordering a DAM Good Bloody Mary with a snit of a Dillon Dam beer, and chilling on their patio.  Plus, take home a growler of the infamous Sweet George’s Brown for your Saturday afternoon festivities.

Red Buffalo Café

Situated strategically on the Blue River in Silverthorne, family-owned Red Buffalo Coffee & Tea offers handcrafted drinks at 8,750 feet above sea level. For those looking for more of a light brunch complete with a latte or loose-leaf tea, this is your weekday or weekend brunch spot. We recommend grabbing a bagel made daily from Di’s Mountain Bagels out of Breckenridge along with a Nutty Professor signature latte, a newspaper or good book, and heading out to the back patio to listen to the river run wild. Very peaceful, and you may even spot wildlife wandering by!

Sunshine Café

Located close to I-70 in Silverthorne lies Sunshine Café known for dishing out hearty breakfasts for over 3 decades. With their brand new remodel of the restaurant, Sunshine Café is bigger and better (they expanded into the old Dairy Queen space), and provides Saturday specials like Ruby Trout and Eggs. For those pancake lovers, definitely order the famous, extra thick, oven-baked wheat cakes.  If you are on your own, the spots at the booth let you watch the action in the kitchen and chat with the owners who are there every day and delightful. If you are like me and love to eat breakfast foods, morning, noon and night, Sunshine Café serves breakfast all day. What a treat!
